Buzkashi Game / Kyrgyz / Eastern Anatolia – Van

The Kyrgyz people who have to migrate to Turkey from Pamir Plateau of Afghanistan are located in Ulupamir village of Van Erciş District. In Ulupamir, the “buzkaşi” (trying to catch a goat) played by horses is an important cultural element. Research and documentation have been made on the “buzkashii” game, also known as “kökpar, ulak tartu, capricorn”.
