Toy Research / Black Sea – Kastamonu
Toy culture research was carried out in the villages of Kastamonu / Pınarbaşı district within the boundaries of Küre Mountains National Park. It is noteworthy that most of the traditional children’s toys, such as many things used in daily life in the region due to forestry and agriculture, are the woodens of the villagers living in the study area. Wooden cars in various lengths, cradles made for girls, different whistles made of tree branches, toys related with hunting gear are among the most common toys as well as sleds made for skiing in the winter. In this work, the names given to the toys in the region and the terminology used in children’s plays were also discussed.
