Bearers of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Izmir (Craftspeople)
In order to increase the tourism potential of İzmir, “İzmir Tourism Promotion Strategy and Action Plan” was prepared in partnership with İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and İzmir Development Agency. Within the scope of this study, 108 handicraftsmen were registered in the intangible cultural heritage carriers inventory study initiated by the Cultural Research Foundation in 2019. The results of the study, which was supported by the Izmir Municipality and Izmir Development Agency and completed in 2020, were reported to the relevant institutions to be used in Izmir Tourism Destination planning.
